Atlanta, GA Chapter – Elaine Dawson
Greetings from B. Elaine Dawson, a 1981 graduate with a BA in intermediate education with a concentration in mathematics. I was born and reared in Kinston, NC and is one of five siblings that are NCCU graduates. I’m a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority (Diamond Life) and a NCCU alumni lifetime member.
Love of education and students propelled me to teach for 30 years (grades 1-8) in four states and Germany. During my tenure, I have been awarded “Teacher of the Year” twice. Retired US Army Master Sergeant Gregory Dawson is my supportive husband of 37 years.
I live in Metro Atlanta and I’m an active member of NCCU Greater Altanta Alumni Association for 18 years. I have served as our representative for national and regional alumni meetings. Additionally, I have served as the community service chairperson, local election committee member and was recognized as 2nd place for Ms. NCCU Alumni 2007.
It’s my goal to raise funds to help others attend this fine institution that was instrumental in molding me. Thank-you for supporting me to become Ms. NCCU Alumni 2019.
